Young Voices, Big Dreams: Clara Brown Entrepreneurial Academy Students Make Spotify Debut
Written and Submitted by Shelli Deaguero
At Clara Brown Entrepreneurial Academy, creativity knows no bounds. Recently, students from kindergarten through fourth grade embarked on an extraordinary journey with acclaimed author and musician Aaron Ableman.
Together, the students and Ableman created an original
song titled Humankind that has made its debut on Spotify, showcasing the young talents’ ability to dream big and work collaboratively. The project began as part of the school’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and creativity.
When Ableman, known for his inspiring work with children, visited the academy, the excitement was palpable. Students gathered in the school’s music room where Ableman guided them through the songwriting process. With his encouragement, students shared their ideas, experiences and dreams, weaving them into lyrics that spoke of hope, community and the power of imagination.
But the students didn’t stop there. Drawing on their artistic talents, they also created unique artwork for the song’s cover. Each class contributed their own piece, resulting in a vibrant and colorful collage that perfectly captured the essence of the song. The artwork, full of whimsical characters and joyful scenes, reflects the students’ boundless ingenuity and collaborative spirits.
As Humankind went live on Spotify, the entire Clara Brown Entrepreneurial Academy community celebrated the remarkable achievement. Students not only learned the intricacies of songwriting and visual art, but also experienced the pride that comes with seeing their work shared with the world.
This project is a testament to the power of recognizing opportunity, curiosity, risk-taking, creativity and the belief that even the youngest voices can exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit. Clara Brown Entrepreneurial Academy students have not only made their mark in music, but have also shown that, with passion and collaboration, anything is possible.
